FAQ
Frequently asked questions
The questions we hear most often about transit trade, payment and delivery. If you cannot find the answer you need, feel free to write to us.
In transit trade, do the goods come to Türkiye?
In most deals, no. The goods are loaded in the supplier's country and shipped directly to the buyer's country. If consolidation or repacking is needed, they can be routed through a free zone or bonded warehouse without being imported.
Who am I buying from, and who issues the invoice?
Your sales contract is with HERMETEK, and the sales invoice is issued by HERMETEK. We handle the purchase contract with the supplier.
Which payment methods do you work with?
Letter of credit (L/C), documents against payment (D/P), advance and balance structures, and back-to-back letters of credit. The right structure depends on the deal value, the countries involved and the relationship between the parties.
Which delivery terms do you use?
From the Incoterms 2020 rules: EXW, FCA, FOB, CFR, CIF, CIP and DAP. The delivery terms are clearly stated in the quotation and the contract.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
It depends on the product and the supplier. For machinery and equipment, even a single unit is possible; consumables and consumer products are usually handled by the pallet or by the container.
How do you verify a product's technical compliance?
Before quoting, we ask the supplier for technical data sheets, test reports and, where required, certificates of conformity. Model, labeling and quantity are checked before loading, and an independent inspection is carried out if the buyer requests it.
Which country does the certificate of origin show?
It shows the country where the goods were made and is usually issued by the competent chamber of that country. The type of origin document required by the buyer's country is clarified at the quotation stage.
How long does it take to get a quotation?
For standard products in stock, usually within a few business days. For custom-made products or project lists with many items, it may take longer depending on the number of suppliers; we will give you a date.
Can you ship products classified as dangerous goods?
Yes. Products such as lithium batteries, accumulators, paints and some chemicals are shipped with packaging, labeling and documents compliant with IMDG, IATA DGR or ADR rules, and in line with the carrier's acceptance conditions.
Which languages do you communicate in?
We hold meetings in Turkish and English. We also support written correspondence in the other languages of this website: German, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic and Chinese.
